Barbara Carle (photo by Dino Ignani) has published her work in Poesia, Chelsea, American Poet, Italian Poetry Review, and other journals and anthologies in Italy and in the US.
She holds a PhD from Columbia University in Italian Literature and Language. She has translated many volumes of poetry and written extensively on Italian, French, and American poetry.

Carle was born in Peshawar, Pakistan of French and American parents. She attended schools in New Delhi, India, Bangkok, Thailand,
Rome, Italy, Paris, France and in other countries as well, including Barranquilla, Colombia. She is trilingual, French, Italian, and English, but writes primarily in English and in Italian.
